Laurent Pouzet is a visual artist based in Brisbane, Australia. Primarily working in charcoal, his work explores the tension between history and mystery—the tangible and the unseen; the comprehensible and the elusive. Through his practice, he also examines concepts of the ‘self’ and the frustration of confronting the fleeting nature of physical presence.

In 2024, Laurent presented his debut solo exhibition, TILL THE LIGHT SUDDENLY DAWNS, delving into the symbolic power of objects and the quiet beauty hidden in the everyday. That same year, he won the People’s Choice Award for the Brisbane Portrait Prize. Since then, Laurent has become a finalist in multiple exhibitions. Driven by a deep passion for art, Laurent seeks to challenge, observe, and reflect on the world around him.
